Last month we had the pleasure to participate in Metrocon12 at Dallas Market Hall. This was our first trade show so we weren’t really sure what to expect, but we had a blast!

Metrocon gave us the perfect opportunity to “strut our stuff” and, I have to admit, we were very proud of our efforts. Wanting to stand out from the crowd, we decided to go for the exotic and used an African theme for the booth. Our booth featured a wonderful mural on canvas created by Dawn.

The side walls of our booth showed multiple finishes. The top half of the walls were a soft beige venetian plaster with a low sheen. The wainscot was a faux elephant skin created by Sam, who also created the faux bois mahogany on the mouldings.

The finishing touch was the beautiful Ikat rug that became the color inspiration for the booth. Thank you Alex Hosseinia of Dallas Rugs for loaning the rug to us. It was perfect!

We had a wonderful time visiting with everyone who stopped by and were thrilled that our hand painted gift box winners were so excited with their prize. We’re already making plans for next year!
